Hey y’all,
Something has shifted in how long it takes to actually get hired. Processes that used to move in three to six weeks are now running ten to eleven weeks from application to offer. I wish I had a different message to share, but… that’s what I’m watching play out in real time. And if you’re mid-search right now and wondering why everything feels slower, that’s why.
What it means practically is this: the salary ranges you’re targeting should account for where the market is today, not where it was during the pandemic hiring surge when companies were moving fast and paying at or above midpoint to close quickly. Timelines are longer, decisions are moving slowly, and the candidates coming out on top are the ones who prepared for a marathon and not a sprint. Sharing this to say, reset your expectations if you’re hoping for a speedy job search process.
This week’s list reflects the kind of roles worth that patience. 9 positions across Walmart, Amazon, Meta, CVS Health, GE HealthCare, Coca-Cola, Dyson, Squarespace, and P&G, all $126K and above, several well north of $200K. Every single one is asking for someone who has already built something, led people through complexity, and can walk in ready to operate without a runway. Before you say that’s not me: keep in mind that women typically downplay their accomplishments. You've probably accomplished more than you can think of off the top of your head.
