This Week's Job Search Tip
Applying to Roles with Unclear Job Descriptions
You know the ones. The job descriptions that read like corporate Mad Libs. You're interested, but you're not 100% sure what they're actually looking for.
Here's the move: Focus on your transferable skills and reframe your experience to match their vague language. If they say "strategic thinker," pull a specific example of when you developed strategy. If they want a "collaborative self-starter," show them both.
And use your cover letter strategically. Address why you're excited about the company and why your skills are a strong match based on what you can piece together from the role. Sometimes clarity comes from you showing them what they're looking for.
