📊 Power Phrase of the Week

“Growth happens when you lean into discomfort.”

✨ Why this matters:
Stepping outside your comfort zone isn’t just about taking risks—it’s about expanding what’s possible for you. Whether it’s learning a new skill, embracing a leadership challenge, or rethinking how you communicate, real transformation happens when you allow yourself to be a beginner again.

🛠 Try this:
This week, challenge yourself to break one familiar pattern—change up a routine, engage in a new learning experience, or tackle a problem from a completely different angle.

Stepping Outside the Comfort Zone: What Creative Writing in Paris Taught Me

There’s something about learning in a city that has inspired generations of writers that makes you reflect on your own voice in a deeper way. My creative writing course in Paris wasn’t just about words; it was about unlearning just as much as it was about learning.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Growth Through Discomfort – The most transformative experiences happen when we challenge our thinking and routines.

  2. The Power of Constraints – Inspired by the Oulipo movement, structured creativity can actually lead to greater innovation.

  3. Unlearning & Relearning – Breaking old patterns opens up new ways of thinking, whether in leadership, storytelling, or communication.

💡 Quick Tip: Find one way to challenge your thinking this week. Maybe it’s reading outside your industry, experimenting with a new strategy, or questioning an old assumption.

Challenge: Flip Your Default Approach

We all have routines and leadership habits that feel automatic. But what happens when you flip the script?

1️⃣ Change Your Default – If you always lead meetings, let someone else take the reins. If you give feedback a certain way, try a new approach.
2️⃣ Experiment with Constraints – Try setting a creative limit—only five words per slide in your next presentation, or cutting your next email in half. Constraints force creativity. See what happens when you work within them.
3️⃣ Reflect & Adjust – At the end of the day, take five minutes to journal: What felt different? What worked? What didn’t? Growth happens in the reflection. (Don’t Skip This Part)

🤖 What I'm Trying in AI (So You Don't Have To)

AI is evolving fast, and I’m always on the lookout for ways it can improve leadership, communication, and career growth. Recently, I came across Vibecoding, a fascinating approach to software programming that prioritizes intuition and creativity over rigid structure.

📰 Check out the full article from the New York Times: What is Vibecoding?

Could this mindset shift apply to leadership and problem-solving? I think so. Instead of always following the traditional path, what if we embraced more flexible, intuitive decision-making in our work? I’m still thinking about this one yall.
